Sparkman High School Marching Band History
The Sparkman High School Marching Senators have a long and proud history.  The high school was
established in 1958.  Depicted here and on the following pages are several highlights, memories and pictures
collected through the years.

The descriptions and lists of names and awards have been compiled carefully, but it is very
possible that mistakes have been made.  If so, we apologize and ask you to

with updated and/or corrected information.

The earliest known photograph of the band is a black and white one from the  1967-1968 school year.  
The band director that year was Don Peck.  The uniform pants appear to be a khaki color, red jacket,
white belt, white shirt and black necktie.  Some majorettes wore white, the other red.  The drum major
looks like she is wearing a black outfit with a white hat.
This photo isn't of the Sparkman band proper, but of the "B" band from a feeder school, Madison
Cross Roads.  The back of this photo is inscribed "Best wishes, Don Peck".  It is labeled as the
MXR "B" Band from 1983.
