SHS Band Parents:

I hope that you have had time to recuperate from the active marching season and are ready for a few busy weeks
ahead of us.  First, we are entering the last few days of the Fruit Sales Pre-Sales event.  This is the best opportunity for
your student to help defray either the cost of the trip or booster fees for the Spring Semester.

Of significant importance is the change in the Christmas Concert.  Due to Graduation Testing that is on-going the same
week as our concert, Mr. Black and Mr. Cothran had to move the concert to another night.  The new date and time for
the Christmas Concert is Friday, December 12, at 6:00 PM in the SHS Gymnasium #1.  Please mark your calendar
and we will continue to send out reminders.  This is going to be a concert only…no Booster Board business will be
conducted, and there will not be a reception after the concert: simply a night of good music and to watch your student
perform!

Speaking of Booster business, our monthly Band Booster meeting will be held Tuesday, November 18 at 6:30PM in
the SHS Band Room.  As we wrap up the annual Fruit Sales, this meeting will accomplish two things:

1.        Discuss general booster business

2.       Allow you to turn your Fruit Sales Sheets and Money in.  Both Treasurers will be on hand to collect money and
Mr. Nistler will be on hand to collect your order sheets as well.

Fruit Sale Money Turn-in:  If you are unable to make the meeting on Tuesday evening, please note that ALL FRUIT
SALES Money and order sheets MUST be turned in not later than Wednesday, November 19th.  Orders and money
not received by the end of school on Wednesday November 19th will NOT be accepted.  No exceptions!  We need
to count money, tally up the total number of boxes of fruit and be prepared to place the order by 22 November.  A
booster board member will be at the schools on Wednesday morning to collect money and order sheets.

Fruit will be delivered to the 9th Grade Academy on Thursday, December 4th.  We will hold our truck sales on Friday
and Saturday, 5 and 6 December.  More information on this will be discussed at the meeting on Tuesday and in future
emails.  Once thing I will say about the Truck Sales and Fruit Deliveries.  We will need volunteer parents to assist
during this time.  This is a great opportunity for you to accumulate additional points for volunteering that can be credited
toward your students Spring Semester fees.

Uniforms:  Just a reminder, the students will wear the tuxedos (10-12 Grade only) and dresses for the Christmas
Concert on December 12th.  JC Penney has some tuxedos still in stock…but in limited sizes and shapes.  Also, you
need to factor in the time for any alterations that may need to be done.

As always, should you have any booster concerns please don’t hesitate to contact me.  I hope to see you all there
Tuesday evening.

Regards:
Dave
